" The NIM® series have been an essential element in our efforts to provide nutrition education to medical students. By allowing students to access accurate information in an interactive way, and at their own pace, the modules have overcome the limitations in contact time that we all face when dealing with the crowded medical curriculum. We have come to depend so much on these modules for our nutrition curriculum, that we would be hard pressed to maintain the level of nutrition education without them."

" In my opinion, the NIM® series is the most progressive and comprehensive nutrition curriculum tool available to date, for teaching medical students about nutrition. Perhaps the greatest testimony to the effectiveness of the NIM program, however, is the comments of our medical students at MUSM... including the following statements: 'The nutrition resources were very good (CD-ROM). The CD was very good. I liked the nutrition CD rather than [current nationally recognized text]'."

" We struggle to include nutrition education for these students in a very tight curriculum. Our solution has been to focus on electronic media (NIM® CD-ROMs and other supplemental electronic learning materials) to present this essential information. We strongly support your efforts."
     - Stanford University School of Medicine

" One of the features of the NIM® series that is particularly helpful for the students in our program is the fact that basic biochemistry and physiology are combined with clinical application within one CD. Provision of the essential knowledge in nutrition for medical students in a concise yet interesting format such as provided by the NIM® series of CDs is certainly a major step forward in ensuring that a solid grounding in nutrition knowledge is delivered to the students."

" I hope medical schools throughout the country will be able to continue benefiting from this excellent educational resource. Nutrition is an area that is not always well or easily covered in a crowded curriculum, despite its importance."
     - Tulane University School of Medicine

" We have tested the CD-ROMs as both optional and required teaching adjuncts to our lecture series. Systematic pre-, post-, and retention testing has demonstrated a marked improvement in student knowledge base with required use of the CD-ROMs. The students have indicated that the clarity and organization of the CD-ROMs make them user friendly."
     - Vanderbilt University Medical Center

" I wish to express sincere appreciation for the Nutrition in Medicine series developed at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I have been using the series since its inception and find it a valuable teaching tool. I sincerely hope this initiative continues to receive funding. Since medical students in general lack nutrition in their curricula, it is a valuable asset."
     - Purdue University

" The Nutrition in Medicine® CD-ROM series is perhaps the most significant innovation in medical nutrition education in the last 20-30 years. The topics covered and the clinical contexts in which they are presented hit the bulls-eye in terms of what students need and respond to best, and what educators indicate is most effective."

" I am pleased! I would use [the modules] in my advanced nutrition class, medical nutrition therapy and perhaps use portions for counseling sections in our other classes."
     - Southeast Missouri State University

" I field-tested the modules with six students. They especially enjoyed the case studies. The students with some hospital experience found them more useful than students with no experience. Students commented that they were realistic, enhanced their decision making skills and integrated theory with practice."
     - Concordia College

" I perceive the modules could be utilized in our dietetics curriculum [by requiring] the students enrolled in Clinical Nutrition to purchase the Diabetes module and work through it independently. This approach would use the CD to replace the textbook."
     - University of Wisconsin-Madison

" Our undergraduate curriculum includes a two-semester Medical Nutrition Therapy (I and II) course that has a lab section as well as the assignment of a significant number of case studies on different diet/disease conditions/prescriptions, etc. These modules would fit nicely into the lab/case study format."
     - University of Nevada Reno

" These modules could be valuable in distance learning."
     - University of Arkansas

" I am a believer in learning by doing and that is exactly what these modules do. The recent references and material research have an edge over textbooks; supporting the active learner and attracting today's high tech students are primary goals and paramount in most fields of study today and certainly in our department of nutrition."
     - College of the Ozarks

" The modules would fit in our curriculum very well. I could really use this with students."
     - Bluffton College

" These interactive programs were wonderful - I think that the students would learn a great deal!"
     - Nicholls State

" The CDs, whilst not essential to the major learning objectives of our courses, do provide an informative way of presenting biochemical, metabolic, and health material in an integrated package which students prefer - i.e., they can see the direct relevance."
